Claude just picked up a design department (and you didn't have to hire anyone)

Hey! Quick one today.

If you've ever needed a landing page redesigned, a client mockup done, or a sales page that doesn't look like it was slapped together in twenty minutes, you know the drill. You either pay a designer and wait, or you open Canva and lose your afternoon. Claude just shipped something that skips both.

  • What Claude Design 2.0 actually is and the one setting that determines whether your output looks good or looks cheap

  • Three ways solopreneurs are already using it to make money, not just save time

Claude rolled out a real design tool inside the chat window, and it's not the "make me a pretty gradient" kind. It asks you questions before it builds anything: who it's for, what mood you're going for, light or dark. Then it builds while you watch.

The video walks through three ways to turn that into income. One is for anyone working with local businesses, using it to redesign an existing site off a single screenshot in about three to four minutes. Another is for course creators and product sellers building out sales pages and covers without touching Canva. The third is for freelancers, and this is the one that stuck with me: doing a client mockup live, on the call, instead of saying "I'll have my designer get back to you."

There's also a setting most people are going to get wrong on the first try, and it's the difference between output that looks decent and output that looks like it came from an actual designer.

Full walkthrough (with the exact prompts he used for each method) is here:

One more thing

The real skill here isn't the tool. It's noticing where you're still paying for speed you could get for free. Every time you catch yourself thinking "I'll wait until I can afford a designer for this," check if that's still true this month. A lot of the stuff we outsource by default just isn't a bottleneck anymore.

Keep it simple,
Mike
