Before we get into it
Every roundup of Claude skills I've read is written for developers.
Testing frameworks. Database migrations. iOS simulators. All genuinely useful if you write software for a living. All useless if you're a solopreneur trying to post five times a week, keep an email list warm, and actually sell something.
So I went through the big community lists and pulled out the ones that matter for a one-person content business. Twelve of them. Everything dev-only got cut, no matter how many GitHub stars it had.
These are all free, all open source, and each one installs in about ten seconds.
A prompt is something you rewrite every time. A skill is something you install once and stop thinking about.
What a skill actually is
If you read Humanize Your AI Text, you already know the idea. A skill is a saved set of instructions Claude follows the moment it's relevant. Think of it as a mode you can switch on.
The difference between a prompt and a skill is memory. A prompt lives in one chat and dies there. A skill lives in your setup and shows up every time, in every new conversation, without you explaining yourself again.
How to install one
Every skill below lives in a public GitHub repo. Installing is the least technical thing you'll do all week:
- Copy the repo link
- Open Claude Code and paste it
- Type
Install this skill. - That's the whole process
Claude reads the repo, pulls the skill files, and puts them where they belong. No terminal commands to memorize, no configuration files to edit.
Do not install all twelve this weekend. I'll tell you which three to start with at the end.
Video and visual content
1. Remotion Video
Built by: Remotion Dev · Repo: github.com/remotion-dev/skills
Claude writes actual video code and renders finished, animated video from a text description. Real motion graphics, not a slideshow with a fade between images.
Where this fits: faceless content. If you're running a page where you never show your face, your bottleneck is producing enough watchable video. This turns a script into an animated Reel without you opening an editor. It's the single most useful skill on this list for anyone doing faceless content, and it's the one I've spent the most time in myself.
2. Arcads

Connects Claude to your Arcads account to generate AI marketing videos and images with actor-style delivery. You'll need an Arcads account for this one, so it's the only skill here that isn't free end to end.
Where this fits: ads and UGC-style content. If you promote affiliate offers or your own products, this gets you testable video creative without hiring creators or filming anything. Write ten angles, generate ten videos, see which one people actually watch.
3. Picsart GenAI CLI

Opens up 140+ AI models for generating images, video, and audio from inside Claude.
Where this fits: thumbnails, carousel backgrounds, and b-roll. The everyday visual work that isn't hard, just endless. Being able to say what you want and get it back without opening a design tool is a real hour saver on batch day.
4. Frontend Slides

Builds animation-rich HTML presentations from a prompt, and converts existing PowerPoint files into them.
Where this fits: webinars, workshops, and paid course modules. If you sell anything that involves teaching on a screen share, this removes the slide-building afternoon entirely.

5. Marketing Skills

Installs 30+ marketing agents in one shot: SEO audits, copywriting, email sequences, conversion rate optimization, analytics, growth.
Where this fits: this is the closest thing to hiring a marketing team for free. Corey has been doing marketing at a high level for a long time, and the thinking baked into these is better than what most people would write for themselves. Start here if you only install one thing from the whole list.
6. Stop-Slop

Strips the AI tells out of your writing. The stock phrases, the predictable rhythm, all the patterns that make a reader think "a bot wrote this."
Where this fits: everything public. My audience is skeptical by default, and the fastest way to lose them is content that reads like it came out of a machine. Install this one alongside your own humanizer skill and run both. The overlap is fine. What gets past one usually gets caught by the other.
7. SEO Machine

A full workspace for producing long-form blog content built to rank.
Where this fits: the asset you own. Social reach disappears the moment the algorithm shifts. Search traffic compounds quietly for years. If you're building anything you want to still be getting traffic in 2028, this is where that work happens.

8. Entrepreneur Skills

24 skills covering marketing, sales, operations, finance, and leadership.
Where this fits: the decisions you'd normally make alone at 11pm. Pricing, positioning, whether an offer is worth building. Running a business solo means nobody pushes back on your bad ideas. This is the closest free substitute I've found for that.
9. AI Sales Team

14 skills and 5 agents that work in parallel on the sales side.
Where this fits: the follow-up that never happens. Most solo businesses lose money at the point where somebody showed interest and nobody followed up. This handles the sequences, the objection handling, and the outreach you keep meaning to write.
10. UI/UX Pro Max

Gives Claude a reference library of 50+ UI styles, 161 color palettes, 57 font pairings, 99 UX guidelines, and 25 chart types.
Where this fits: landing pages and lead magnets that don't look homemade. Design is where most solopreneur funnels quietly leak trust. Something about a page feels a little off, and a skeptical visitor bounces without ever being able to tell you why. This closes that gap without a designer.

11. Claude Mem

Memory that persists across every session.
Where this fits: it stops you re-explaining your business every morning. Your niche, your voice, your offers, your audience, all still there tomorrow. This is the quiet multiplier that makes every other skill on the list work better.
12. Superpowers
Built by: Jesse Vincent · Repo: github.com/obra/superpowers
The largest community-built skill library out there, at 40,000+ stars.
Where this fits: the grab bag. Not everything in it applies to a content business, but it's broad enough that whatever workflow you're trying to improve, something in here probably touches it. Install it last, after you know what your actual gaps are.
Three more worth knowing about
Not core to a content business, but they solve real annoyances:
- Context Engineering Kit by NeoLab HQ, at github.com/NeoLabHQ/context-engineering-kit. Cuts the tokens Claude burns per response so you stop hitting usage limits mid-project.
- Caveman Mode by Julius Brussee, at github.com/juliusbrussee/caveman. Compresses Claude's output hard, roughly 75% fewer tokens. Reads strange, saves a lot.
- Find Skills by Fockus, at github.com/fockus/claude-skill-find-skill. The skill that goes and finds you more skills.
The three I'd install first
Twelve skills installed in a weekend is twelve skills you've forgotten by Wednesday.
Start here, in this order:
- Marketing Skills. The widest coverage of the work you're actually doing every week.
- Stop-Slop. Protects your credibility with an audience that can smell AI writing.
- Remotion Video if you make video, or SEO Machine if you write. Pick based on where your traffic actually comes from.
Run those for two weeks. When one starts feeling automatic, add the next skill from whichever area is currently eating your time.
The one skill you can't download
Here's the part these lists leave out.
Every skill above was written by someone who has never met your audience. Corey's marketing skills don't know your audience is skeptical beginners who've been burned by fake gurus. Stop-Slop knows what AI writing sounds like, but it doesn't know what you sound like.
That gap is the one thing worth building yourself. A voice skill trained on your own writing, so everything downstream comes out sounding like you instead of like a competent stranger.

Install the twelve. Build the thirteenth.
Your next step
Pick the section that describes your worst week. Install the one skill from it that would have saved you the most hours. Use it for a full week before you add another.
The solopreneurs pulling ahead right now aren't the ones with the biggest audience or the longest tool list. They're the ones who stopped doing the same work twice.
